A fine and impressive antique moulded glass and sterling silver mounted decanter in the Art Nouveau style; part of our silverware collection

Description

This impressive antique sterling silver and moulded glass decanter has a circular compressed form onto a colet foot.

This fine decanter has been overlaid with silver in the iconic Art Nouveau style with sweeping floral designs with intertwined leaves and tendrils.

This design incorporates a shaped vacant cartouche to one side of the decanter.

The decanter retains the push fit glass stopper overlaid and embellished with silver, crafted so as to reflect the design ornamenting the decanter body.

The silver overlays are embellished with engraved decoration to accentuate the organic leaf design.

Condition

This antique decanter is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The moulded glass is in perfect condition.

On occasions this type of decanter would be hallmarked 'sterling' however, as with this example, more often than not they remain unmarked.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
