This fine antique George II sterling silver pint and a half mug has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular domed stepped foot.

The surface of the silver pint mug is embellished with the fine and impressive engraved initials ‘MM’ incorporating a scrolling leaf design to the upper portion.

The flared upper rim of the body is encircled with a band of tooled decoration.

This large silver pint mug is fitted with an impressive opposing scroll handle incorporating a plain thumbpiece and scrolling terminals.

The underside of the mug is embellished with a later presentation inscription* with horse racing interest depicting ‘The Jubilee of the Great Jubilee Handicap run at Kempton Park 8th May 1937, won by Mr Neal Christey’s Commander III, aged 8st 9lb, trained by Capt C.F. Elsey, ridden by H. Wragg’.

* Our silversmith has confirmed the presentation inscription can be removed if so desired. We would be happy to meet customer requirements.

This antique mug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The engraved decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mug are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
