This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salver has a plain circular hexafoil shaped form.

The surface of the salver is embellished with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved crest of a griffin's head erased, holding in the beak a sinister hand couped at the wrist.

The raised border of this fine example of antique silverware is ornamented with an applied gadroon decorated rim accented with leaf motifs.

This silver salver is supported by four Regency style feet.

This impressive Georgian salver was crafted by the very collectable and important London silversmith Paul Storr.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp and the applied decoration is very sharp.
