Description


This fine antique George VI sterling silver sauceboat has an oval plain rounded form.


The surface of the sauceboat is plain and embellished with an applied Lindisfarne/Celtic style decorated border to the rim.


This George VI sauceboat has an unusual handle modelled in the form of a chased decorated stylised mystical bird's head with a scrolling bifurcating lower terminal.


This piece is supported by three Lindisfarne style decorated scrolling feet.


Date: 1940

Condition


This sterling silver sauceboat is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

This antique piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The applied and chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of George VI silverware.
