Description


This magnificent George V sterling silver soup tureen has an oval rounded plain form onto four impressive cast and applied shell decorated feet.


The tureen has a gadroon decorated rim and is fitted with shaped shell, acanthus leaf and scroll decorated handles.


The tureen retains the original hallmarked cover which displays a large and very impressive pomegranate style finial.


This tureen was produced by the well known 20th century silversmiths Elkington & Co.


Date: 1913

Condition


This magnificent soup tureen is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks as expected to the interior of the cover and finial are all very clear.
