Description


This fine antique George V sterling silver sugar caster has a plain octagonal panelled Art Deco style baluster form onto a stepped octagonal collet style foot.


The upper portion of the body has a slightly waisted form to stepped shoulders.


The sugar caster retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, embellished with angular geometric motif pierced decoration.


The cover is surmounted by sterling silver urn style finial.


The underside of the base bears the retailer’s mark ‘Wilson & Sharp Ltd, Edinburgh’


Date: 1936

Condition


This sugar caster is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.

This antique caster has been professionally polished.

Full hallmarks are struck to the surface of the caster and part hallmarks struck to the sleeve of the cover are very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this George V silverware.
