Description

This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver teapot has a rectangular cut cornered panelled form tapering onto a collet style base supported by four ball feet.

The body of the teapot is embellished with a band of convex fluted style decoration.

The rim and shoulders of the teapot are ornamented with gadroon decorated borders.

This fine teapot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover which retains the original cushion shaped carved wood and sterling silver finial.

This fine Edwardian teapot has a shaped painted carved wood handle featuring two scrolling thumbpieces.

This antique teapot has an impressive plain flat sided swan necked spout with a moulded lip.

Date: 1909

Condition

This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The carved wood handle has minor wear in keeping with age.

The teapot has been professionally polished.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks to the cover of the teapot are all very clear; the maker’s mark to the body is partially rubbed but legible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example antique teaware.
