Description


This exceptional antique sterling silver teapot has a circular bell shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.


The body of this Victorian silver teapot is embellished with bright cut engraved palmette decoration incorporating a shaped vacant cartouche, accented with bands of simple Greek fret and a band of evolute-spiral decoration.


The lower portion of the body is ornamented with bright cut engraved vertical stylised palm leaf decoration.


This fine teapot retains the original impressive hinged hallmarked shaped cover, embellished with a bright cut engraved Greek fret band and encircled with further vertical palm leaf decoration to the swept, waisted portion.


The cover is surmounted by an impressive hallmarked drop shaped finial encircled with leaf ornamentation identical to that of the cover.


The hinge is embellished with impressive chased decorated leaf ornamentation.


This fine Victorian teapot has an angular sterling silver handle, featuring a prominent scrolling thumbpiece and a shaped upper terminal encompassed with bead decoration.


This antique teapot has an impressive swan necked spout ornamented with a shaped embossed palmette design to the underside of the lower portion.


The circular spreading foot is encircled with futher engraved vertical leaf ornamentation.

Condition


This Victorian silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The decoration to this unusual teapot is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example antique teaware.
