Description


This fine antique George V sterling silver treacle tin/container has a plain cylindrical form.


The surface of this unusual tin is plain with an applied moulded border to the upper and lower rim.


This impressive tin retains the original hallmarked push fit cover ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest* depicting a stag ducally gorged statant beneath an oak-tree above the motto ‘Non Nobis Solum Nati Sumus’ - not unto ourselves alone are we born.


* This crest pertains to the Bradshaw family.


Date: 1921

Condition


This antique treacle tin is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The container has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the surface of the cover are all very clear.
