Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver waiter has a circular dodecafoil shaped form onto three feet.


The surface of the waiter is embellished with a central bright cut engraved cartouche with crest of out of a ducal coronet a swan rising with wings elevated encircled with the motto ‘habebis quod contraxis’.


The shaped swept border is ornamented with embossed and chased stylised leaf decoration, accented with shell decoration at each incurve, and applied gadroon decoration to the rim.


This waiter retains the three original claw and ball feet.

Condition


This antique sterling silver waiter is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The embossed and applied decoration is very sharp.

The bright cut engraving is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the waiter are very clear.


Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
