Description


This fine antique George III sterling silver waiter has a plain circular form.


The surface of this waiter is embellished with the engraved initial ‘G’.


The raised rounded border is encircled with an impressive band of bead decoration to the rim.


The waiter is supported by the three original claw and ball feet.


The underside of this impressive Georgian waiter bears the silversmith’s centre punch mark amidst the contemporary engraved initials ‘IJ’.


This impressive waiter was crafted by the renowned female London silversmith Hester Bateman.


Date: 1787

Condition


This antique waiter is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The bead decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the waiter are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
