Description


This fine antique presentation trowel has a heart shaped blade.


The blade is embellished with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration to the anterior face which also displays the contemporary bright cut engraved inscription:


'Presented to Henry A McKenzie esqr, Rockville Stainland, by the inhabitants of the Urban Distric of Stainland with Old Lindley

on the occasion of the laying of memorial stone at the Elland & District Secondary School.

May 21st 1910'.


The reverse of the blade is plain.


This trowel is ornamented with a decorative shaped cast bolster and is fitted with a splendid carved ivory handle.


Date: 1909

Condition


This impressive antique presentatoin trowel is a very good gauge of silver. fine quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the reverse and to the ferrule are all clear.
