This fine antique George V sterling silver and 9 ct gold card/cigarette case has a shaped rectangular form with rounded corners.

The case has a subtly curved form proffering a comfortable fit in the majority of pockets.

The anterior and posterior covers of this antique cigarette case is embellished with bright cut engraved swag decoration suspended from stylised floral sprays and accented with ribbon bows.

The anterior cover is further ornamented with a hallmarked 9ct gold shield shaped cartouche, framed with a pin struck border.

The cartouche displays the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'AL'.

This antique cigarette case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.

This antique case retains the original gilded interior.

Date: 1920


This fine George V case is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The case has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the case are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
