This fine antique Victorian presentation sterling silver and ivory trowel has an angular triangle shaped blade.

The anterior face of the blade is embellished with bright cut engraved scroll and leaf decoration incorporating bordered floral designs and the presentation inscription:

‘Presented to Mrs. E. Stansfield by the Young Men’s Class On her laying the Foundation Stone of the Extension of the Wesleyan Mission Room. St Anns on the Sea. September 11th 1897’

The reverse of the blade is plain and unembellished.

This impressive antique presentation trowel is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
