Description

This exceptional George IV Scottish sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded form onto a circular spreading foot.

The body of the teapot is embellished with profuse fine floral, leaf and scroll chased decoration incorporating two shaped vacant cartouches.

This antique teapot is ornamented with a fine applied shell and scroll decorated border.

The teapot is fitted with a flush hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive bud style finial.

The cover is also embellished with floral, leaf and scroll chased decoration.

The swan necked spout is ornamented with significant chased leaf and scroll decoration

The impressive ribbed C scroll handle is ornamented with an acanthus leaf thumbpiece and a flower motif to the upper terminal.

Condition

This antique George IV teapot is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The chased and applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot are very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
