Description
This fine and collectable set of five Georgian sterling silver wine labels is made by the renowned London silversmith Hester Bateman.
Each label has a neo-classical form of a trophy accompanied with leaf festoons.
The labels are embellished with pin struck and bright cut engraved decoration.
The body of each wine label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: Port, Geneva, Claret, Rum and Madeira.
The wine labels are suspended from silver round link chains.
Condition
These fine labels are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.
The bright cut engraved decoration is crisp.
Each wine label is struck with the maker's mark and lion passant mark to the reverse.
All the hallmarks are clear.
