This magnificent and large antique Spanish silver flower basket has an oval shaped waisted form.
The lower portion of the elongated body of this impressive basket is embellished with fluted decoration in a spiral design.
The upper portion of the basket is encompassed with an impressive broad shaped, undulating band of pierced and chased trellis ornamentation accented with a floral motif to each cross section and flanked with opposing scrolling leaf borders.
The decoration to this broad border incorporates four scrolling leaf bordered shaped cartouches accented with floral designs; the cartouche at either end remains vacant and the two to either side bear the engraved initials 'DTC'.
This Spanish silver flower basket is fitted with an impressive scrolling leaf decorated handle with a tied scroll decoration to the handpiece.
The swept foot of this large centrepiece basket is ornamented with further pierced and chased decoration matching the same style as the border to the body in addition to a scrolling leaf motif border to the upper portion in junction with the body.
The lower portion of the foot is embellished with opposing scrolling leaf designs incorporating by four impressive scrolling feet.
