A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver bowl in the Arts & Crafts Style by A E Jones; an addition to our silver Arts and Crafts collection

Description

This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver bowl has a circular rounded form.

The surface of this antique piece has a planished finish.

The upper portion of the bowl is embellished with a band of embossed Arts and Crafts style decoration incorporating a stylised leaf design accented with flower motifs.

This piece of antique silverware is further ornamented with an applied moulded rim.

This bowl is supported by four plain tapering hexagonal panelled legs to a spreading foot, in the Arts and Crafts style.

The underside of this piece features the retailers mark ‘Payne Oxford'.

Condition

This antique bowl is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bowl are all very clear; the hallmarks to this piece are exceptionally clear considering their location.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Edwardian silverware.
