This fine antique Victorian sterling silver christening mug has a circular form onto a collet foot.
The christening mug is embellished with stylised leaf and flower bright cut engraved decoration which frames the two vacant oval cartouches.
A further band of bright cut engraved decoration embellishes the rim of the mug, with a bright cut engraved strapwork design ornamenting the lower border of the mug.
The mug is fitted with a C scroll handle ornamented with an applied textured band around its middle.
This Victorian christening mug has a gilt interior.
The mug is fitted to a hinged leatherette and satin lined presentation box.
The box is fastened with a push fit catch.
This antique christening mug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.
This Victorian mug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.
The box is also in excellent condition in keeping with age.
The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mug are clear.
