An exceptional antique Georgian English sterling silver bullet shaped teapot; part of our silver teaware collection

Description

This exceptional antique early George I sterling silver teapot has a circular plain bullet shaped form onto a circular colet foot.

The teapot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted by the original sterling silver spool shaped finial.

This fine teapot is fitted with a carved ivory C scroll handle.

The tapering cylindrical spout has a moulded rim.

The underside of the base is embellished with the original and contemporary engraved initials 'TIE', in addition to the hallmarks.

Condition

This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition.

There is some crazing to the ivory handle as to be expected, in keeping with age; this does not affect the integrity of the piece.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside and lion passant mark to the cover, as to be expected, are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this example of Georgian silverware.
