The pieces of this fine and comprehensive canteen of cutlery for twelve persons have been crafted in the Hanoverian Old English style.

Each piece has been crafted in sterling silver.

All the knives, the carving forks and fish forks are all fitted with pistol grip handles.

The forks are three tine style forks, apart from the fish forks, which have four tines.

This rare vintage flatware service includes a solid sterling silver fish service.

The service is a 'straight' service in that all the pieces were made in the same year, 1973, by the same maker, Roberts & Belk of Sheffield.

This comprehensive canteen of cutlery is fitted to fine oak lift up lid and well, two drawer canteen box.

The box is embellished with brass fittings to the exterior, including a vacant shield shaped cartouche to the centre of the cover, and brass handles at either side.

The box has an inlaid ivory plaque to the interior which displays the name 'R C Oldfield'

The interior of the mahogany box is lined with blue velvet.

Condition

The pieces of this exceptional vintage canteen are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The silverware has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to each piece are all very clear.
