A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver cheroot / cigar case; part of our silverware collection

Description

This fine antique sterling silver cigar / cheroot case is a rounded oblong form.

The case is entirely covered with profuse bright cut scrolling leaf engraved decoration.

To the anterior cover, there is a shaped vacant cartouche; that may be engraved with a monogram if so desired.

The hinged cover has a push fit catch and a rounded thumbpiece.

This fine antique case retains the original gilt interior.

Condition

The cigar case is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

The case has been professionally plished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the interior surface of the front compartment and part hallmarks struck to the interior surface of the reverse compartment are very clear.
