This exceptional vintage George VI sterling silver cigar/cigarette box has a plain rectangular arched form.

The sides of this impressive vintage silver cigarette box are plain and unembellished.

This fine example of vintage silverware is fitted with a hallmarked hinged solid silver cover featuring an iconic Art Deco style tiered rounded thumbpiece.

The arched cover is embellished with horizontal engine turned decoration with a central checked patterned panel, all in the desirable Art Deco style.

The body of this exceptional silver box is fitted with the original cedar wood lining and divider; this box can be refitted with a bespoke velvet jewellery box fitment upon request.

This vintage cigar / cigarette box has a weighted base and retains the original shagreen covering to the underside; this covering indicates the high quality of the piece.

The box is supported by four impressive tiered feet, reflecting the same design as that of the thumbpiece.

By virtue of its size this versatile box could be used for a multitude of functions.

NOTE: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover; it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver covers.

This vintage cigarette box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The box has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

There are some natural fire marks to the interior of the cover, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box have wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible.

The part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this sterling silver box.
