This vintage Elizabeth II English cast sterling silver and silver gilt
has been modelled in a form of ' Little Ben '*, which in reality is a model of London's most famous clock tower ' Big Ben '. ornament
This model has been
chased and embellished with panels of silver gilt to reproduce the fine architectural detail of this Gothic style clock tower.
The detachable push fit cupola style cover may be removed, allowing access to the three push fit, battery operated
/ clock faces. watch
The white enamel watch /
dials display black Roman numeral hour markers encircled by a minute marked chapter ring. clock
Each watch face is fitted with black shaped hands.
The model is mounted on a stepped black marble plinth.
This vintage model of Little Ben is fitted to its original box and is supplied with original invoice (see image).
*Little Ben is a cast iron miniature clock tower which mimics the famous clock tower colloquially known as ' Big Ben ' (St Stephens Tower), situated at the intersection of Vauxhaull Bridge Road and Victoria Street, in Wesminster, central London.
This vintage model of a clock tower is an exceptional gauge of
silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the reverse panel to the top of the clock tower are all very clear.
The battery operated watches are all in working condition and may be set individually.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware.
