This antique George V sterling silver tyg* /bowl has a circular rounded bowl with a tapering cylindrical pedestal onto a circular spreading foot.
The surface of this antique Arts and Crafts style bowl has a planished finish.
The body of the bowl is embellished with a band of chased leaf and pine cone decoration.
This bowl is fitted with three impressive scrolling arms, embellished with acanthus leaf and fluted decoration to petal leaf decorated terminals.
This fine example of antique silverware is fitted to a circular ebonised wood plinth, encircled with a vacant silver inscription band; the band may be engraved with a personal inscription if so desired.
* A tyg is a large English mug/drinking vessel with three or more handles. The mug was made to be shared, and handed round between several drinkers.
Condition
This antique bowl is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the bowl are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of George V silverware .
