Description

This large and magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver centrepiece has an oval compressed form onto an oval domed foot.

The lower portion of the body is embellished with broad fluted decoration.

The upper portion of the body and foot are embellished with chased flower and scroll decoration.

The rim of this fine Victorian centrepiece is ornamented with applied scroll and shaped leaf style decoration.

The centrepiece is fitted with two impressive cast silver scrolling knopped handles, ornamented with significant acanthus leaf decoration.

Condition

This magnificent antique centrepiece is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

The centrepiece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this example of Victorian silverware.
