Description


This exceptional antique George III sterling silver salver has a plain circular form.


The surface of this large salver is embellished with a fine and impressive central oval bright cut engraved floral motif and leaf bordered vacant cartouche.


The raised border is encircled with an impressive band of bead decoration to the rim.


The salver is supported by four bracket style feet embellished with further bead ornamentation.


The underside of this impressive Georgian silver salver bears the silversmith’s centre punch mark in addition to the full hallmarks pertaining to the renowned London female silversmith Hester Bateman.

Condition


This antique salver is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition.

The bead decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is crisp, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of this Georgian silver salver are all very clear.
