Description

These fine antique George III sterling silver salvers have a plain circular form, in the classic English style.

The surface of each salver is embellished to the centre with an impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a deer passant, charged with a mullet and holding in its mouth a laurel branch.

The raised rounded borders are ornamented with an impressive applied bead decorated rim.

These antique salvers are each supported by three impressive bracket style feet, embellished with further bead decoration.

Condition

These antique salvers are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The applied bead decoration is very sharp.

The bright cut engraved decoration has even wear, in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each salver are all very clear; the maker’s mark to one salver was not deeply struck and shows signs of wear to the upper portion.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Georgian silverware.
