This antique sterling silver spirit kettle has been crafted in the Louis style.
The body of this Louis style kettle is embellished with chased scroll and flower decoration, incorporating two vacant shaped cartouches.
This fine antique kettle is fitted with a domed hallmarked cover, surmounted by an impressive hallmarked finial in the form of an eagle.
The swan necked spout is ornamented with chased floral decoration.
The kettle detaches from a fine and impressive sterling silver stand, supported by four cast and scrolling leaf chased decorated legs with hoof style feet.
The stand retains the original detachable spirit burner, fitted with a hinged arm mounted with a carved finial in the form of a pineapple.
The kettle stand is fitted with chains which retain the original hallmarked security pegs.
This Edwardian Louis style spirit kettle is a fine and impressive example of its type.
Condition
This antique spirit kettle is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The chased decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the kettle, and part hallmarks struck to the cover, handle, finial, security pegs and spirit burner are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Edwardian silverware.
