SORRY ITEM SOLD

These fine antique George III sterling silver ribbon pullers/threaders* have a hinged scissor action.

The pullers have been realistically modelled in the form of a stork and are embellished with chased decoration detailing the bird's plumage and features.

One finger grip is fitted with a chased decorated four claw foot, allowing the pullers to sit securely perpendicular.

The underside of the claw foot/stand is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved initial 'S'.

The beak/blades of these impressive silver ribbon pullers have a serrated surface.

This impressive Georgian piece was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths William Eley, William Fearn & William Chawner; original examples of this age and quality are becoming increasingly scarce.

* More commonly found in continental silver, antique ribbon pullers were functionally used to thread ribbon through the eyelets incorporated in baby clothing.
