This fine antique Victorian sterling silver swing handled basket has a shaped oval form onto a shaped oval spreading foot.
The body of this impressive basket is embellished with chased scroll and leaf decoration, accented with chased decorated fruit festoons.
There is a central flat vacant oval cartouche to the well of the basket, ornamented with a flat chased engraved decorated scroll, leaf and flower border.
The rim of this antique basket is embellished with an applied and pierced scroll, leaf and flower decorated border, accented with an applied shell motif to each opposing end.
This Victorian basket retains the original hallmarked shaped pierced and bead decorated circular design swing handle , embellished with scrolling chased decorated mystical fish terminals.
Condition
This antique basket is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The chased decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the basket and part hallmarks struck to the handle are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware .
