This Victorian English sterling silver novelty letter opener is made in the form of a sword.

The hilt has an eagle's head.

The terminal and guard are inset with amethyst, citrine and garnet stones.

A very fine example of its type.

The letter opener is a very good gauge of silver and very good quality. It is in excellent condition and has clear hallmarks
