A fine, impressive and unusual antique George V English sterling silver teapot; part of our silverware collection

Description

This unusual antique George V sterling silver teapot has a plain, octagonal panelled cushion shaped form onto an octagonal spreading foot.

Each panel is embellished with embossed decoration emphasising the panelled form of the teapot.

The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged domed cover.

The cover retains the original carved wood and sterling silver octagonal domed finial.

This fine teapot retains the original carved wood handle with scrolling thumbpiece.

The underside of the swan necked spout is ornamented with embossed stylised leaf decoration.

Condition

This antique teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition.

This George V teapot has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

There are some minor blemishes to the surface as would be expected in keeping with age.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks struck to the cover are are very clear.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
