This fine antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a bulbous shaped form onto a circular spreading foot.
The surface of the teapot is embellished with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf, floral and fruiting garland decoration in addition to intertwined leaf motifs.
This decoration incorporates a shaped vacant cartouche to either side.
The upper portion of the teapot features a band of bright cut engraved interlaced decoration.
This Victorian teapot is fitted with a domed hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with the original hallmarked urn shaped finial.
The cover is embellished with stylised bright cut engraved decoration around the border.
The handle and integrated thumbpiece of this antique teapot are enhanced with impressive chased decoration.
The full length of the teapot spout is embellished with bright cut engraved leaf designs and the socket is ornamented with a band of bright cut engraved decoration.
Condition
This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The chased decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base and part hallmarks struck to the cover, handle and finial are very clear.
