A fine antique Victorian English sterling silver teapot; part of our silver teaware collection

Description

This fine antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a circular compressed form onto a circular spreading foot.

There is a broad band of scrolling acanthus leaf, shell and foliate bright cut engraved decoration to the upper portion of the teapot body which continues seamlessly to the hinged hallmarked cover.

The decoration incorporates a shaped vacant cartouche to either side of the teapot body.

The cover retains the original hallmarked silver gourd and leaf finial.

The teapot is fitted with a plain hallmarked C scroll handle with scroll decorated terminals and a shaped upper socket.

The teapot has a fluted swan necked spout.

Condition

This antique teapot is a very good gauge of silver, very good quality and in excellent condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base, and part hallmarks, as expected to the interior of the cover, finial and handle are all very clear.

Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
