Description


This exceptional antique George III English sterling silver teapot has a circular compressed form onto a swept circular foot.


The lower portion of the body of the teapot is encircled with embossed fluted decoration below an applied moulded girdle.


The elevated embossed fluted shoulders of this Paul Storr teapot is encompassed with a band of applied bead decoration in junction with the body.


This silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged subtly domed cover; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.


The cover retains the original and exceptional sterling silver simplified floral finial accented with additional lobed designs to each petal and incurve; this finial secures to the interior with a nut.


This exceptional example of antique teaware retains the original carved pear wood C shaped handle featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece and plain sterling silver sockets.


This antique teapot is fitted with an impressive swan necked spout.


This exceptional example of Georgian silverware was crafted by the very collectable and important London silversmith Paul Storr.

Condition


This antique Paul Storr teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The embossed and applied decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the teapot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
