The pieces of this impressive Victorian sterling silver tea service have an octagonal, panelled, bulbous form onto four bracket style feet.
The teapot , sugar bowl and cream jug are embellished with bright cut engraved scrolling leaf and floral decoration.
This decoration incorporates a shaped vacant scroll decorated cartouche to both sides of each piece.
The pieces of this fine antique tea service are ornamented with impressive applied strapwork decoration to the handles, borders and spout of the teapot.
The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover with a central octagonal panelled dome.
The cover retains the impressive original hallmarked scroll decorated finial.
The cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original gilt interior.
Condition
This antique tea service is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.
The bright cut engraved decoration is very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each piece and part hallmarks struck to the cover, handle and finial of the teapot are very clear.
