This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver toast rack has a rounded sub-lobed form.


The toast rack has six compartments divided by a rounded arched frame, penetrated by a central tri-lobed shaped carrying handle.


The hallmarked rounded rectangular shaped base has a plain central strut and is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest displaying out of a coronet a swan.


The rack is supported by four impressive Regency style paw feet.


The underside of this exceptional antique silver toast rack bears the retailer's mark 'Garrards, Panton Street, London'.


Date: 1851

This antique toast rack is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base frame are all very clear; the hallmarks have been deeply struck due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
