Description


This fine antique George V sterling silver water jug has a plain rounded baluster style form.


The lower portion of the plain body is encircled with chased Roman leaf decoration accented with geometric designs.


The impressive C scroll handle is ornamented with a large, chased decorated single leaf design which is incorporated into the shaped scrolling thumbpiece.


The underside of the unusual spout and upper terminal of the handle are embellished with lobes of chased leaf decoration.


The circular swept foot is encircled with chased quadrilateral designs, accented with alternately placed stylised leaf decoration.


Date: 1913

Condition


This antique jug is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition.

The jug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The chased decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the jug are very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique silverware.
