Description
These fine quality tureens have an oval, shaped form.
Each tureen is supported by four impressive acanthus leaf bracket style feet.
The tureens are fitted with domed oval covers with detachable bead decorated handles.
The tureen rim also had bead decoration.
To either side of both the body and the cover of each tureen is engraved foliate and garland decoration embellishing oval cartouche with an engraved crest.
Both tureens are fitted with acanthus leaf decorated carrying handles.
The notation 'transitional' refers to the transistion from Sheffield Plate to the process of electroplating i.e. the bodies and sleeves will be copper Sheffield plated, whilst the feet, applied handles and collars will be electroplated.
Condition
These fine tureens are very good quality and in excellent condition.
There is no wear to the Sheffield plate.
