Looking for engagement rings for small hands is often a challenge. There can be a lot of disadvantages to being small – chief among them all – finding clothes and jewellery that fit. Here at AC Silver, a significant selection of our rings are small enough in size to be suitable for petite hands. All of the rings featured in this blog range from sizes H- K1/2 (they can be resized to fit larger hands also).
Let’s drive right in.
1. Solitaire Rings
The all-time classic, a diamond solitaire ring is never going to be a bad choice for an engagement ring. Using solitaire rings as engagement rings for small hands is a popular choice. But, it does mean you have some things to keep in mind. The carat weight of the diamond is important. Having a petite hand means that any diamond will look larger, so consider using restraint and opting for a smaller stone. Think of the savings!
2. Cluster Rings
Cluster rings are a very popular style, and for good reason. They are exceptionally glamorous and the arrangement of diamonds brings so much sparkle it’s hard not to love them. Many petite women avoid cluster rings all together, believing they are too large for small hands. This doesn’t have to be the case. If you buy a cluster ring with smaller diamonds they will they appear larger on your hand. Furthermore, they can compliment the natural size of your hands. The examples below range in carat weight and ring size, but all are between a J1/2 and a K, making them perfectly suitable for petite hands.
3. Twist it Up
When looking for engagement rings for petite women, twist rings can be an excellent choice; the twist brings an elegance that elevates the overall look. Twist rings are an excellent choice for people that want something a little different from the classic solitaire ring. Twist rings are making a comeback in popularity at the moment, with people preferring them to styles that are seen as more traditional by some and even as far as ‘boring’ by others. Keep the sophistication, lose the tradition – twist it up.
4. Coloured Gemstones
Diamonds were not always the standard when it came to engagement rings. Before the mid-20th century, diamonds were not typically given when proposing, and other gemstone rings had frequent use. The popularity of alternative gemstones has risen exponentially in recent years, and the trend is going nowhere. Using coloured gemstones is a great way to make your engagement ring stand out. It’s important to get it right when buying an engagement ring, and the use of coloured gemstones allows the opportunity to incorporate that special person’s favourite colour, their birthstone, or a colour significant to your relationship, creating a stronger symbol of your love.
5. Trilogy Rings
Although we have warned against having ‘too much’ diamond carat weight (is there such a thing) in your engagement ring, it is possible to make a high carat weight work for you. Trilogy rings are the perfect way of getting more sparkle on your finger without making you feel like a child playing with mother’s jewellery. Sitting somewhere between the classical solitaire ring and the elegant twist ring, a trilogy engagement ring is an excellent choice when it comes to wanting some extravagance. After all, having a small hand shouldn’t have to stop you from having one (or three) big rocks on your finger.
While all of the examples of engagement rings for small hands given in this blog are well-suited to petite women, here at AC Silver we have more than 1000 unique rings, most of which are available to be resized. You’re sure to find what you’re looking for with us!
