Description

This fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold with a silver setting.

The brooch has been modelled in the form of a dragonfly.

The pierced decorated, paired wings are each embellished with twelve pavé set Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.

The thorax of the dragonfly is ornamented with a 4.5mm natural pearl and a larger collet set Dutch cut diamond, the attached segmented abdomen is collet set with a further six graduated Dutch cut diamonds.

The dragonfly's legs and head are crafted in 9 ct yellow gold, set with two collet set cabochon cut rubies to represent the eyes.

The forelegs of the dragonfly are clutching a single silver collet set Old European round cut diamond.

The antique dragonfly brooch secures to the reverse with a 9 ct yellow gold hinged pin and clasp, and benefits from the additional security of a clip and fine link safety chain.

This antique Victorian insect brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold and silver.

The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Andrew sold these items at various London markets and antique fairs. Over time, and through selling at a range of venues, Andrew built up a large and diverse customer base from private buyers to national and international trade customers.
