1.92 ct Diamond and Pearl, 9 ct Yellow Gold Brooch - Antique Circa 1890

This fine Victorian Celtic style diamond and pearl brooch has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold with a silver setting.

The impressive pierced decorated Celtic brooch has a pseudo-penannular* form, in a style similar to that of a clan badge, embellished with thirty-two Old European cut, pavé set diamonds.

A trefoil motif representing a shamrock to the centre of the design is ornamented with three feature diamonds individually collet set.

The dagger-like design embellished with a single row of ten pavé set Old European cut diamonds sits horizontally within the belted border, and is accented with a feature seed pearl at the terminal.

The original antique diamond and pearl brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and hook fastening.

This diamond and pearl brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

This brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9 ct gold.

NOTE* Pennanular clasps/brooches were worn by both men and women, usually singly at the shoulder by men and on the breast by women, and with the pin pointing up; first the pin was stabbed through the folds of a cloak and then one end of the ring was pushed under the sharp end of the pin where it came out of the cloth. The ring was then turned until the pin tip lay securely locked in place beyond the raised bump of the terminal.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
