AC Silver Timeline

1977

Andrew Campbell started trading as a Sole Trader

1983

Andrew Campbell relocated back to the North East, just outside Newcastle Upon Tyne, the city where he had been born.

1999

Andrew Campbell opened his first shared retail outlet in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne under the trading name AC Silver.

2000

After realising a gap in the market, and due to demand from his customers, Andrew expanded his business from dealing solely in antique silverware to adding antique jewellery stock to his inventory.

2002

Andrew Campbell launched his first website, introducing AC Silver to a worldwide audience.

2007

Due to an increase in sales and business growth Andrew appointed a Business Manager to assist him develop AC Silver further

2010

Feeling inspired by other jewellery boutiques Andrew opened his first standalone retail store in St. Georges Terrace, Jesmond, with a team of staff recruited to assist with running the store. This created an environment where he could showcase his jewellery inventory to its full advantage.

Early 2011

Due to the online growth of AC Silver Andrew appointed a Marketing Manager to deal with the digital demands of the company, in addition to growing the business further online.

Late 2011

Additional staff were recruited to help craft high quality website content and get AC Silver's luxury stock presented in the best possible way.

2012

Due to business growth AC Silver acquired a dedicated office space to house more staff and to process goods at a higher level.

2014

After spotting the demand for luxury antiquities in the USA AC Silver joined the 1st Dibs Marketplace to help push this growth into the American market

2014

The AC Silver team expanded

2015

Andrew Campbell registered the A C Silver Unlimited company name and was no longer a Sole Trader.

 
Andrew Campbell started trading in antiques during the 1970s. Initially, Andrew lived in the South of England, travelling the country, searching for items of silver to buy. Andrew sold these items at various London markets and antique fairs. Over time, and through selling at a range of venues, Andrew built up a large and diverse customer base from private buyers to national and international trade customers.
