Description


This exceptional vintage American sterling silver fruit bowl has an oval rounded form onto a domed spreading foot.


The body of this fine vintage silver bowl is embellished with pierced trellis style decoration incorporating four large floral motifs.


The flared upper portion is encompassed with a band of pierced arch decoration accented with plain scrolling designs to either side of the handpieces.


The shaped upper rim of the bowl is further embellished with an impressive applied ribbed border.


Either end of this large sterling silver bowl incorporates fine and impressive applied and pierced decorated scroll bordered shell handpieces with scrolling leaf decoration to the shaped rim.


The plain oval well of this impressive piece is plain and unembellished.


This vintage sterling silver fruit bowl is supported by a domed spreading foot, encompassed with an applied ribbed border identical to thast of the body.

The applied and pierced decoration is very sharp.

Full British import hallmarks struck to the underside of the bowl are all very clear.
