Description


This exceptional antique American sterling silver jug has a circular bulbous form onto a circular collet style foot.


The plain bulbous body and cylindrical neck of this impressive Tiffany silver jug are encompassed with applied bands of scrolling foliate and floral designs.


The upper rim is encircled with an applied moulded border.


This impressive example of antique silverware is fitted with an exceptional C shaped handle ornamented with chased fluted bands to either side of the handpiece.


The underside of this impressive Tiffany jug bears the volume marker '4 1/2 PTS' in addition to the hallmarks:

Maker's mark: Tiffany & Co. (directorship of John C. Moore II)

Silver quality/purity mark: sterling silver (.925, 925/1000)

Pattern number: 3077 (1870-1875)

Order number: 7676

This antique Tiffany silver jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The American hallmarks struck to the underside of the base are all very clear.
