Bloodstone and 9 ct Yellow Gold Signet Ring - Vintage (1976)

Description

This fine and impressive vintage signet ring has been crafted in 9 ct yellow gold.

The ring displays a plain and unembellished, rectangular cut-cornered bloodstone panel to the centre of the setting.

The flared ring shoulders blend seamlessly with the hallmarked ring shank.

This 1970s signet ring is fully hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the maker's mark (SH), gold guarantee mark (crown), the mark for 9 ct gold (375), the Birmingham Assay Office hallmark (anchor) and the date letter for 1976 (B).

NOTE: Bloodstone is a mineral more formally known as heliotrope. The classic, most recognisable opaque bloodstone is green jasper with red inclusions of hematite; these definable inclusions are said to resemble spots of blood. This vitreous stone has many traditions and superstitions associated to it, from the ability to slow bleeding of wounds, to bringing favour, courage and endurance to the owner.
