Chinese Export Silver Presentation Cup by Wang Hing & Co - Antique Circa 1900

Description

This exceptional antique Chinese export silver (CES) presentation cup / goblet has a circular bell shaped form to a knopped stem and circular domed foot.

The large drinking vessel of this Wang Hing silver goblet is embellished with an exceptional chased decorated frieze depicting multiple oriental characters amidst iconic structures, all on a matte terrain style background; this ornamentation reflects the iconic Willow pattern*.

The ornamentation to the body incorporates an impressive shield shaped vacant cartouche to one side.

The circular domed foot is embellishd with a band of chased leaf ornamentation, on a matte background.

This impressive antique goblet retains the original gilded interior.
