Description

This exceptional antique 18th century 20ct yellow gold snuff box has a plain oval form.

This impressive antique gold box is fitted with a hinged cover encircled with a subtly incurved band to allow for ease of access.

The underside and cover are ornamented with contemporary engraved scrolling interlacing initials, each reflecting the same style but different formations.

The interior of each compartment is plain and unembellished.

This impressive antique piece has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 20ct gold; often such 18th century boxes are a higher purity of gold than modern examples and bear no hallmarks, which is not uncommon.
