Danish Silver Candlesticks - Antique 1860

These antique Danish cast silver candlesticks have a plain cylindrical column to a plain bell shaped spreading circular foot.

Each candlestick has a circular spreading campania shaped hallmarked capital embellished with fluted decoration to the lower portion and surmounting a chased stylised leaf decorated shaped knop.

These fine candlesticks retain the original push fit sconces with fluted decorated rims.

The lower portion of each column is embellished with chased water leaf decoration.

The bases of the antique candlesticks are not weighted.

The hallmarks struck to these impressive candlesticks include:

Maker's mark: PRAHL (Samuel Jacob Nicolai Prahl)

Assayer's Master mark: Peter R. Hinnerup

City mark: Three Tower mark, 60 (Copenhagen, 1860)

Silver quality/purity mark: Three Tower mark (.826, 826/1000)

Date: 1860

These antique Danish silver candlesticks are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The decoration to each candlestick is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the rim of each candlestick are clear; hallmarks are all legible in keeping with age.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of Danish silverware.
